Ask good open questions
Good researching techniques
Putting information into own words
Presenting
The task….
Your job will be to ask a good open question about something that starts with that letter or number. Think about the 5 W’s; who, what, where, why, when. A good open question leaves lots of room to search for answers. It is not a one word / number answer. It requires a good amount of information to answer it fully.
You will need to research your question; finding relevant, ‘good’ information. ‘Good information’ means that it is information that is at your level and you understand it. It also is information that is true and can be backed up with supportive evidence.
You will need to then put this information into your own words. This is a very important part of the process as copying someone else’s work is plagiarism (copying).
Creatively presenting your question and answer is your second to last step. Think about how you might arrange your information on the page. How do you interest your audience? Can you use images?
The last step is to think about how you might present this information. You may be required to present to your class, kagan group or shoulder/face partner. You should not need to read it word for word off your page, you should ‘know’ your answer. You may like to think of this as you ‘teaching’ your knowledge to your peers. Think creatively about how they may like to learn this.
Examples of questions: A Who is Audrey Hepburn and why is she famous? What is special about an Anteater? What does it take to become an Astronaut? B What is a bass guitar and what special features does it have? What is the sport BMXing all about?
